16 Months!!!

It's been a while since I have written an update on my sweet Colt Allen!

While he is still very much a baby in my eyes, he is becoming a toddler more and more everyday.
And we are having so much fun!

Colt is definitely all boy and I mean this in a good way:) He's always moving/running and his favorite place to be is outside or in the shop with Pops.

This winter is killing us! I can't wait to be able to get outside with him this spring.

He has become such a little helper. He loves to do what Mommy does.

Throwing a Little Toddler Tantrum:)

Like talking on the cell phone, sweeping, turning off his fan after nap time, turning the channel on the tv, putting the lid on the milk, throwing his trash away, starting the dishwasher. He thinks he's such a big boy!

But he really amazes me with his fine motor skills! He has mastered using his fork and loves using his spoon to eat yogurt. It's so sweet to watch him work so hard to get it in his mouth.

Sometimes it's faster to use the hands!

He also loves to brush his teeth! We have started making it apart of our nightly routine:)

Colt's speech is coming along. He talks non-stop! I mean all.the.time! If you are in the grocery store with us, you will hear Colt on the other end of the store! He really likes to show off for a crowd.

This talking he does is his own language...only he understands. But he thinks you understand. At night he takes the book from me and reads it to me. It's quite funny:)

Loves playing with the Toilet Paper Holder!

He does say several real words! Mommy (lately it's been "MA", which I redirect him to say Mommy...he smiles...he's a stinker), Daddy, Ball, Hi June, Hot, Bye, Hi-Howdy (not sure where he learned to say Howdy), No, Night-Night.

He waves his arms when he's all done, runs to the bathroom when I ask if he wants to take a bath, sits in his chair when I ask him if he wants to watch bubble guppies.

He's a dancing machine (doesn't have the best rhythm) and loves any music!

He knows how to do prayer hands and then we clap and say "Yay God!" when we're finished...thanks to CiCi and Pops:)

Colt is one special baby boy and I'm blown away by him everyday! His sweet smile makes my heart want to burst and his laughter is contagious...he has a great laugh.

Here are his stats:

Head: 93%

Weight: 28 pounds 88%

Height: 34 1/4 97%

He is a growing boy! The doctor couldn't believe how tall he is! I think he's going to be tall like his Uncle Curt and Cory and his Pa and Papa. Chris was the only one who didn't get the height...he takes after the greek side of the family:)

You are one LOVED baby!!!

Hello There!!!

Hello There!
I hope everyone had a wonderful time over the Holidays!!! We sure did, but of course it was super busy!

December was a tough month on Colt because he was getting his bottom molars. These were the worst for him so far! I swear I think he was teething the whole month:( He was extremely fussy, which is not like him at all!

January has been 10 times better!!! As much as I love the holidays, I also love getting back to our routine!

Colt is 16 months! He feels so much like a toddler, which is giving me a little baby fever:) Hope to do a post on our big boy soon!

Here's a few pics over the holidays in no particular order:

Christmas Card Attempts but Fails!

I finally got my Christmas Cards ordered this week and they are on their way! So exciting! I just love Christmas Cards!

My mom took Colt's picture because she has an awesome camera. We tried to capture a sweet picture of him sitting under the tree with lights.

Let's just say it was a lot harder than I thought it was going to be! We used his favorite show on TV to finally get the adorable picture I used for the card, which will not be revealed yet:)

So here's some of our attempts:

I love this little outfit because it makes him look like a baby and his sweet feet showing!

It's been a tough week around here because Colt is getting his bottom molars. These molars have really bothered him worse than any of his other teeth:( It's breaking my heart and I'm so ready for them to pop through already!!!

I still have lots of Christmas shopping left to do! I'm a little behind this year, but it will all get done...that's what I keep telling myself:) No reason to stress!

Love,

Courtney

Thanksgiving Pics

Happy Friday!!!

Can't believe tomorrow's December 1st! Craziness!!

Here are a few family pics we got on Thanksgiving. We had a great holiday, but very very busy!
I don't want to eat turkey again until next year:)

 Sweet Boy was worn out!

The next day he slept until 9 and then took a 3 1/2 hour nap that afternoon.

Colt's at such a fun age and I can't wait to see him at Christmas this year!

My mom and I went to a Holiday Market last night, we are taking Colt to our local Christmas parade tonight, and then tomorrow we are going on the Tour of Homes to see beautiful homes decorated for Christmas. I love love love this time of year!

I'm starting a new tradition with Colt tomorrow to count down for Christmas. He gets to unwrap a book everyday before Christmas, kind of like a book advent:) Thanks to my mother-n-law I only have a few more books to get. We'll see how it goes!

Have a great Weekend!

Tis the Season,

Courtney

Oh the Holidays!

Oh the Holidays! They are pretty crazy for my little family of 3. We have not 1, not 2, but 3 places to go on Thanksgiving Day:) And then another Thanksgiving lunch to attend on Saturday. But were lucky to have so many family members to celebrate with!

We are all decorated for Christmas at my house:)

This past weekend we went to visit my Dad and his wife Zeny and their two girls in Glasgow to celebrate Thanksgiving. It was nice to get things started early! And the food was amazing!!! Our other Thanksgivings that we will be going to have big expectations to live up to when it comes to food:)

Colt loves his Pa and Aunts!

My brother and My husband! It's a little scary how much they look alike:)

It was a beautiful weekend to play corn hole and let Colt see my dads animals. They have a goat and chickens. Colt loved seeing and feeding the animals! The child could live outside, it's his most favorite place to be.

While Colt was napping Chris and I got to spend a little time together cruising around in the golf cart and stopped to practice our shooting skills! It was a gorgeous day and felt so good to be outside enjoying the weather.

Shooting the gun scared me, but it was a thrill!

My Dad's house is so peaceful and fun to visit. We always hate to leave:) Colt and our dog June are constantly entertained!!

Hope everyone has a wonderful day tomorrow celebrating Thanksgiving!
I hope my toddler can make it through our big day:)

Blessings,

Courtney

Yummy Taco Soup

This chilly fall weather really puts me in the mood for soup:)

I have a great one to share! In my family we are big Taco Soup lovers.

My mom makes her recipe in a crock pot, but my Aunt Traci makes one on the stove that is so fast. I went with her recipe because that day I needed something fast!

Taco soup is one of the eastiest most delicious soups to make, in my opinion. What could be better than soup + mexican?!?! It's a pretty brilliant combination:)

I made it a few weeks ago on Halloween for some friends before we went Trick or Treating with our little ones. It was a hit and I have found that even kiddos like it.

Ingredients:

1 pound ground beef

1 onion, chopped (I used a red onion)

1 package ranch-style dressing mix

1 package taco seasoning mix

1 cup water

2 14.5-ounce cans diced tomatoes with green chilies (I like the petite diced the best)

1 15-ounce can pinto beans (I used a tri-blend with black, kidney, and pinto which I think is the way to go!)

1 15-ounce can cream-style corn

Brown beef with onions in a medium size soup pot. Drain excess grease. Add remaining ingredients and simmer for 20 minutes before serving.

Serve with tortilla chips, shredded cheese, and sour cream. (These items are a must because they make it so yummy, especially the sour cream!)

I hope you Enjoy this soup as much as my family and I do!

I'm getting hungry thinking about it;)

Love,

Courtney
